Someone very special..

So you know when there is someone in your life that you know is so great, yet you wonder what you did to deserve a chance to be a part of their life.
Do you ever also wonder what you did to deserve such amazing people in your life that have made you the person you are?
I think about my life a lot.

I think of the people I encounter on a regular bases. I think of the trials I have experienced. I think of things that occur in my life that change me inside and out. I firmly believe in the concept that everything happens for a reason. Christ has a plan for me and I believe that nothing just "happens." I think everything is there for the sole reason of making your day, changing your mood, having you grow, and so much more. I love that. I love that even if something bad happens that you know it was supposed to happen for a reason, even if it simply means growing by it.

Well there is someone in my life that has helped shape who I am. This person is amazing inside and out. Truly. When I think of someone pure and celestial I think of this person. This person is a friend. A carer. So beyond loving. Hard working. Passionate about important aspects in life. Positive. Nurturing. Beautiful. Fun.

I wish I could say more, but words simply don't define this person. I know this person is in my life for a very specific purpose. I strongly believe that we were best friends in the pre-existance. I know I made a choice to have this person be such a part of my life. Oh life is great when you have people around you that you love. Well everyone, this wonderful person I am describing is my sister..

My sweet Mandi,

There is no one out there that compares to you. You are simply divine and such an example to me. You examplify what I wish to become like in my life. You have so many qualities that make you so unique. I admire who you are and want you to know how much I love you. I know all of us sisters were up in heaven and chose to be with eachother on earth. I am grateful that my family is the biggest part of my life. I am so lucky to have sisters that can be my best friends. I love my family. I love you. Our family would not be complete without you.I want you to know that I think that you deserve anything and everything in your life. You are amazing and are such an incredible woman. It is really hard not having you live in Mesa, but it also makes me realize how much I love and appreciate you. I admire you willingness to do what you have to, to help your family.Thank you for being a part of my life. Thank you for helping make me who I am. Thank you for being a wonderful sister. I love you infinity--plus one. Happy Birthday my dearest sister! Families are forever.

Love, Lex

Someone for Everyone

So I am still anxiously awaiting your posts about the blast from the past highschool dances. I have seen 2 really good ones that literally made me laugh a lot out loud! Anywho I urge you to play this game, it really is a lot of fun and a good reward will come to whoever gets the most votes. So check it out..NOW!!

Anyways off to my fabulous weekend. I have experienced some things that I never knew existed. I think I live in such a bubble that knowing life beyond my own is quite fascinating yet so odd. "You mean to say Mesa isn't the only thing out there?" Ha yeah people laughed at me too. It is crazy to me that there are so many types of people and there is someone for everyone. How great is that? There is someone out there for EVERYONE and I really think that is awesome! No matter the type of person, race, gender, you can find someone to be your companion. Craazyyy.

Well this weekend made my eyes open much bigger then they were before. I attended the Gay Pride Festival because of my work. I worked a booth where we promoted our business. Not really knowing what I got myself into, I agreed to work and to sell our place. Now lets think about this...The Wright House, a reception center, at a gay pride festival trying to get people interested in getting...married there? Hmm yeah wasn't quite happening. The fact that the law didn't pass for gay marriages made us look like a tool being there. No one wanted to talk to us because they can't get "married" here. It was nothing what we expected it to be.
NOTHING!

Well might I also just say it was an eye opener for sure. I never knew things like this really were out there. Me being my little white, straight, mormon girl who is so used to home, work and school in good o'l Mesa town found out that she needs to stop and notice the things all around her, sometime. Wake up Lexi! I was introduced to so many different types of people this weekend that I almost felt like I was living in a movie. It was odd. VERY odd. I found myself in the corner of our booth reading scriptures off of my phone. Ha, yeah that explains it!

Here are a few pictures to show you just a tiny glipse of what I experienced. There was plenty more picture worthy opportunities but not so much blog appropriate. You get what I mean right? Well here you go..

Me in front of the float. Pretty rad right??

Hmm....interesting. Very interesting.

Oh don't even worry. I was given a coursage for being a part of the festival so I had to rock it to try and fit in..

Gay pride for life! Sportin the rainbow babbaayyy! AHH(Close up)

Live performances from Drags! Ow ow!

This is my new friend I made named Cornelious. He became my new boyfriend. Or wait no...wait what is it? Boy..? Girl..? Who knows!

This is totally for real. Hahaha! He was loving the parade! This picture explains my experience there to the T.

All in all on a postive note, the lesson learned is..
It is a great thing that there is someone out there for everyone. No matter the person, gender, race, style, age.
Literally.

Wow! What a weekend is all I have to say.

A friendly competetion...

So I have been reminising a lot about the past.
Of fun times I had while in highschool.
As much as I loved highschool, I am glad to be out! One thing that I miss most besides my friends is dances. They were honestly so much fun!!

The funnest part was always getting all dressed up, nails done, lookin fresh!

There was always so much time and preparation that went into planning dances, but in the end all of my dances all turned out so much fun and with memories I will never forget!
I miss it.
I miss doing all of the fun exciting things that made highschool so much fun to remember.
This is times when I wish I was back in high school.
(But not really)

Lets bring it back everyone..

I want you to do a post of your best or worst dress days from a dance. It will be fun to see the difference in everyone's dress, style and appearance from way back when. We all know we felt cool in our dresses but when we look back it can be quite funny right??
After people post some pictures of them at highschool dances we will have a competition that all of YOU will determine has the best highschool dance picture. Don't be shy..Lets see em ladies!
Old dance pictures that will make us all laugh, envy, love, or all of the above.
So here are the rules..

First post about a high school dance. Story, pictures, whatever you choose.

Second leave me a comment so I know you did so.

Third get others to do it so we can make this a good friendly competition

Fourth put up a link that will direct people to my blog so they can know what is going on and what competition we are doing so that they will want to join in on the fun!

Fifth I will bring all of the pictures together and have a vote that all of YOU will vote on.
